Object List

Postby Robinfrei » Tue Mar 22, 2011 9:31 pm

Hi, i´m a rookie with inkscape an worked with Corel Draw before so please apologize that stupid question. I´m misssing an object list. If one has created different objects in one layer you can list them in CD. Is it possible in inkscape too? Thanks a lot for the answer, a new User :)

Hi Robinfrei,
Image
Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Inkscape doesn't have that yet. It's been frequently and passionately requested, as well as planned in a future release. I'm not sure if there's a targetted release yet, though.

You haven't said what you want to do/are trying to accomplish, and maybe it doesn't matter. But if we can help with a workaround, please feel free to elaborate :D

Hi Brynn, thanks a lot for the fast answer and the nice offer of a workaround. The work is already done. It was a prospecting question because I want to change completely from Corel to inkscape, and somehow it like if you´re changing a car. You try to use the buttons you had always used, but they´re not there. I worked on a symbol for my Gym and tried to organize to much objects in one layer. Anyway I succeeded and feel very lucky about a new symbol and software. Thanks for our help. Ralf Freitag

For now, you can use 'Edit > XML Editor…' - (adding an object/group browser is a known and long-standing feature request).
