Customize Shortcuts

Postby Frojo Apps » Mon Jan 06, 2014 12:07 am

Hi Guys!

Im wondering if there is anyway to customize my own shortcuts in Inkscape? Im currently finding myself using the Object -> Clip -> Set command A LOT! And Im wondering if there is anyway that I can add this to the shortcuts, or if there is a shortcut that Im not aware of?

Thanks!

Regards.

Hi!

Here is a list of inkscape shortcuts:
http://inkscape.org/doc/keys.html

There is a file somewhere in the inkscape/share folder you can change already existing key combinations.
Sadly you can add any non-existing ones only if you build your own inkscape version -as there is no shortcut for clipping set yet.

This is not a hotkey per se, but if you are doing lots of repetitive clips try the key sequence alt+o, p, s. Alt+o will pull down the Objects menu, then p will activate the clip submenu, and finally s will select the set command. Definitely not memorable, but it is more efficient than using the mouse.

So glad you asked this question because thanks to Lazur's answer I was able to change the Toggle View Mode command for my laptop, which doesn't have the number key pad needed for the default shortcut.
