I am experiencing problems trying to drag and drop jpeg images from the desktop to Inkscape 0.92. This was not an issue in 0.91 which opened the import dialog straight away. File -> import still works.
I have not tested this on any other machines yet, just my laptop.

I teach Inkscape to my elementary school students in an after school club and thus I try to simplify it as much as possible so we use drag and drop to import images all the time. They also use this method to open .svg files on occasion as some of the computers previously ran portable versions of Inkscape.

I just installed 0.92 on all the schools computers :/ Hope we can fix the bugs quickly

Can you report/search for bugs at https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape ? Please also inlcude info about your operating system, and if you're using any special kind of clipboard management software.
FWIW, it works for me on Linux Mint 18 with Inkscape 0.92.

Please tell us here which operating system, so others can test. It might be better if we can test here, before you make a bug report.

Oops, I have already posted the bug report. I had the issue on the two machines that I have tested it on so far. One was running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and the other was Windows 8 64 bit.
