The endings (Tips) of lines

Postby Yata » Sat Mar 15, 2008 11:29 am

Hi there,

I'm in need of help regarding the endings of lines.
At this point in time I'm using the pencil tool to make my designs, and have found that the endings of the lines are really not what I want for a smooth design.

Currently they are squares/rectangles and I was curious if there was a remedy to make them sharper or a different shape.

Thank you :D

There are three shapes to end a line: cut-off, square, and semi-circle. They can be changed via the the Fill and Stroke dialog (Shift+Ctrl+F) under the "Stroke style" tab. As far as I know, these are the only end caps available. But if you really need something more, you can convert the stroke to a path (Path->Stroke to Path or Ctrl+Alt+C). This will create a path that outlines the stroke. In other words, the stroke is replaced with a filled object. You can then use the tweak tool :tool_tweak: or the node edit tool :tool_node: to modify it to your heart's content.
