Insetting Paths Causes Object to Disappear. Help!

Postby Pendragon1988 » Sat Jul 13, 2013 11:26 pm

Hello, I am working on a tutorial for making cog drawings, but I am having trouble insetting the paths on one of the objects. When I attempt to do so, the entire object disappears, which is strange to me because I followed the tutorial exactly. Can you please help me? The link to the tutorial is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4CMyZiu6Yk

Thank you

Welcome aboard!

Isn't it possible the basic object you used was too small compared to the insetting?
Like about a half pixel wide?
If not, please be a bit more specific, I cannot see what went wrong.

Something different.
If you are into gear drawing, be sure that gears usually use evolvents for their tooth profile.

Much harder than shown in that tutorial to draw those.
Even though there is a gear rendering extension, it won't give you actually working gears.
