Hi all,
I've been struggling with this one. How do I make a single pixel dot in inkscape? I use a Wacom Bamboo tablet, and I want to just click the tablet to make a dot (for example, dotting the 'i'), but it seems to be so difficult to do so. That is the only thing keeping me away from inkscape. Please help!

I think we should be able to do this. I don't use a tablet, but I think it should work very similar, if not identical, to the mouse.

With a mouse, it's a simple Ctrl + click, while using the Pencil tool. But before making the dots, you'll want to go into Inkscape Preferences > Pencil, and set the width for the dots (I think it's 3 by default, but not positive). Also this setting is found in Inkscape Prefs > Pen, but I can't get it to work on the canvas with the Pen tool since version 0.47. (Not sure if we've got a bug, an update, or what....but definitely it works with Pencil.)

And we have many tablet users here, so if I'm wrong, you'll soon get the correct resonse

Thanks, I will wait for the other users to respond. Inkscape is great, except for this one annoying bug.

Creating dots with the calligraphy tool is a requested, but not yet implemented feature:
Bug #263166 in Inkscape: “CALLIGRAPHY TOOL: Tool should allow for ink dots / dotting”

Until this is added, you can use the pen tool (in one of the straight-line modes) or the pencil tool with Ctrl+click, as brynn described.

Not a bug - since 0.47 it works only in straight line and paraxial modes of the pen tool (see the manual section about the pen tool, scroll down to "Modified in v0.47:").
