This is my first post here and, because it is such I want to thank all the Inkscape developers: You've created a great program!

I'd like to ask for some help. My problem is that I try to use the "difference" command from the "Path" menu. I tried to cut some letters made by the tool through a shape, but it doesn't work as I imagine it would. There's a text from the tool beneath the text from the tool and it worked properly with it - I could cut the tool text through the shape behind it, but I couldn't do that with the tool-made text. What am I missing? Thanks in advance. ^^

What do you mean by it doesn't work as you imagine it would?
Does it works somehow?
It works fine here. Could you post an image of the problem?

Make sure the shape you want subtract is above the shape you want subtract from. Maybe it´s this.
