Inkscape exports bigger files...

Postby Pony-Berserker » Sun Apr 21, 2013 5:56 pm

So, I encountered this today, and it's weird.

Usually, Inkscape exported bitmaps of the exact size as the drawing. If it was 1500x8000px, the bitmap was 1500x8000.
But today it exports bigger files. I thought it was something wrong with the exact file, but I checked my older drawings and now they had the same issue.

To be exact. The drawing has 1500x18446 and it exported it as 1967x24186. I don't know why. There are no blank parts in the exported bitmap. It exported the drawing but it made it bigger for unknown reasons.

Any ideas what can cause this.

PS: It doesn't really matter what the drawing is - but if you really need to know - it's this one: http://pony-berserker.deviantart.com/ar ... -366861150 (and all my previous comics behave the same way now ;P)

It usually happens when dpi is changed, while exporting. Could it be the solution?

p.s.
On the other hand, it would certainly not affect existing .svg`s (unless also exported under "these new saved" preferences in exporting dialog). If you previously changed settings for dpi in the export dialog, it would most probably affect next exported images/pics.

Yes, that happens to me ALL the time! Normally I never using anything but 90 dpi in the Export Bitmap dialog. But once in a while I change it, to help someone troubleshoot, or whatever, and I forget to put it back to 90. Whatever you last exported, is how it will export next time. You have to remember to reset it back to 90 dpi :D
