Greetings -
Just recently, when saving an svg to a certain folder, the extension wouldn't show on the newly created file and Windows wouldn't associate the file but opening through inkscape worked just fine. It seems that no matter what I tried, the file wouldn't show an extension and associate. The folder, though, was for a revision to an existing project and a few version numbers were being used to track the progress - the folder was named something like "redesign 5.2.3" (no quotes, of course). I noticed that after I removed the numbers from the folder name things started to work. Could this have been the problem? I could've sworn I've used periods in file paths before but for some reason it didn't seem to be working.
Curious to know if anyone else has experienced the same?
Thanks

Confirmed in the comments of Bug #408566 in Inkscape: “Program won't save files without given extension on Win32”:

Spot on. Thanks a lot for the link and I'll definitely keep launchpad in mind. (I had heard that it was a place for improvement suggestions but had never actually been there.)
The issue does, indeed, seem to be with the period in the folder name. Tried backslashes, too, but for some reason it didn't like that either (note very much intended sarcasm). Haha - hyphens it is...
Thanks again.
