I've been using Inkscape for a few years now (4?) and I've been using the same old version nearly all of this time.
I recently took the plunge and upgraded it to the newest version because of some of the performance fixes and I've really been enjoying it.
There is something missing however and i was wondering if there is any way i could re-enable it...
In the old version I was able to scroll around and zoom in and out using the shift+mouse wheel combo while I was editing\drawing a node with the pen tool. This made it really easy to zoom in, carefully place the node and then zoom out to get the path into the right shape. I've even noticed that when i'm drawing a node point moving my mouse to the edges of the screen no longer moves the drawing area around.
I know it's a minor nitpick but the ability to manipulate the zoom levels and scroll around while editing nodes was really useful. without it my production times have gone up quite a bit.
Is there any way to get this feature back or has it been completely removed from the program over the course of many updates?
Scrolling while drawing a path.
Re: Scrolling while drawing a path.
Works great for me on Linux Mint 17.3 with Inkscape 0.91.
Which version of Inkscape are you using? (i.e. which file did you use to install it?) What's your operating system?

For zooming, the shortcut is Ctrl+Mousewheel, btw. (unless you changed that in the settings in Edit -> Preferences -> Behaviour -> Scroll).
Does anybody else on Win7 / Windows in general have this problem?

Win7 64 bit and Inkscape 0.91 r13725 here. It works as expected for me.

If you're talking about "panning" the canvas, yes, there was a change. http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... 91#General
