I use a netbook and the icons on the left of the window are too large to fit all of them in the screen.

Since there is some icons that I do not use, I was wondering if it was possible to change the order of the Icons according to my priorities.

Under Inkscape preferences>Interface you can choose small or even smaller if it works for icons that will fit on your screen.

It is planned to allow to turn off less-often used tools (or, was planned for 0.48 [ * ] but didn't make it ;) ). Freely rearrangeable tool icons are unlikely to be implemented (or maybe as part of the 'Adaptive UI' ?).

At the moment the order of the tools is 'hard-coded' i.e. it would need to be changed in the source files before compiling Inkscape.
