Hi All,
I've recently downloaded Inkscape and want to start learning as much about this software (and how to use it).
I have no background at all in graphic design...for me it has always been just an interest, but have recently decided to make it more than just an interest.
I'd like to move up to Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop eventually, but for now would like to 'cut my teeth' on Inkscape.
Was wondering whether anyone could recommend any websites/books or any other sources, for someone inexperienced like me to pick up basic skills and tutorials/projects for inkscape.
I've seen some of the work posted by others on this forum, and am amazed at how good some of it is. It would be nice to think I could create designs similar to this someday.

Also try the great Inkscape guide, that's how I entered the world of Inkscape and it was very useful to have things explained before you start working (the link is in my sig).

Inkscape and Illustrator are vector editors, while GIMP/Photoshop are bitmap editors, the difference between those concepts is huge. If you plan to also learn bitmap editing you can search the net for the book Grokking the GIMP (free to download). But I recommend trying to learn Inkscape first it's much easier to learn and use
