Hello everyone,
I'm new here.
I'm actually using inkscape to create free Arabic video lessons. I want to use inkscape similarly to the guy at khanacademy.com where I have a black background (resembling a chalkboard). As I teach and run out of space I just scroll down to continue.
I'm having issues:
-Is there anyway to make it so that the default document is always a black background and without the borders
-When I try to fill in the background it says 'area not bounded'... how do i fix this? (I got rid of the borders)
Thanks!

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
Yes! Please go to File menu > Document Properties > Page tab > General > Background. There you can click on the checkerboard pattern bar, and a color dialog will come up, where you can change the color as well as alpha/opacity.
Since I don't have a whole lot of details about your project (and I'm not very familiar with making videos) there may be some reason why that won't work. If not, then you'll need to draw a rectangle the size of your page, and fill it with black. Then send it to the bottom (in z-order).
