Re: Evolution
The last one reminds me of an image in a text book depicting the visual 'aura' of a migraine attack (something people with migraine see before the actual pain hits them)... Sorry for that association
- it doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the image!
I like the creativity, and all the different concepts you put into the images
(The third one would be my favourite)

Thanks brynn. I wish i had some "competition" or collaborator

Re: Evolution
I've been doing a lot of designs, like geometric patterns, for coloring pages... Hhmm....I thought I uploaded a bunch, but must have forgot. Anyway, I would be glad to make the outlines of some, and you could add the magic. Although wait for me to upload some examples, so you can see what I mean. Not sure when I'll get around to it, but feel free to remind me later

Ok, here they are. I'm not talking about the whole page kind. But just parts of the designs by themselves. http://inkscapecommunity.com/ic_gallery ... p?album=55

What magic ?
You are a grand wizard !
They are super beautiful !!! How can you forget to post them ?????
I think some of them are a bit too complex in the sense that a lot of detail (sadly) gets lost in the whole, and maybe coloring images must be simpler ?
But i think hey all make great mandalas. I know the people at gimpchat like this stuff to play with:
http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11468
There is also a filter that helps coloring lineart (G'MIC - Colorize Comics), but its similar to what the BucketFill in Inkscape does.
So im not too sure what you mean with magic. Im just imitating what OBEY does. Especially his Obey-records series is basically putting patterns on a path:
https://obeygiant.com/medium-art/album- ... t-edition/
And choosing a good color schme is part of the magic.
Re: Evolution
Yeah, I think some of them are a bit too complex. But I'm learning. They're actually for printing out and coloring with markers or colored pencils. My goal is to investigate having Inkscape Coloring Books published, with (obviously tiny) profits donated back to the project.
But it wouldn't be hard to go a lot simpler, where they could be up worked up with computer graphics. Like just take 1 "unit" out the page, make it page size, and then add magic. (OH! What about this for a contest -- choose 1 design and everyone gives it their own treatment?)
Actually, I had become so used to working with Inkscape, where opaque filled objects on top of other objects work just fine. So I would start making designs, but when I removed the fills, there are all those strokes and paths that were covered up. So it's a different approach.
Also, I'm not sure what a good page size is for this. I'm hoping these would be about right for printing, but not really sure.
For the last week or so, I've been banging my head trying to make pentagon-based designs. Probably I'll be back to hexagons and octagons, and maybe some square-based designs, pretty soon. And I can't wait to start adding spirograms into the mix! I made this one ages ago. (Rats, no attach
) I know a whole lot more could be done with it.

I was trying to figure out how to make each little diamond shape have a gradient in it, so it sort of looked like the colors were spinning around the wheel. But it was going to have to be done one at a time. And then later maybe make the colors by the spectrum (like rainbow colors) Maybe this should be the first challenge? Just add magic

Im always for doing it punk-rock. So do it with a xerox machine in mind. Either Din-A4 or Din-A3.
