Newbie - How to edit saved files?

Postby shereenann » Thu Sep 07, 2017 11:48 am

Hi Inkscape users. I am a total newbie with the programme and now starting to learn it. :)

I just created several logos in Inkscape and saved them as svg files. How can I go back into those saved files and edit them? Or are further edits impossible once it is saved as svg?

Thanks so much for reading.

SVG is Inkscape's native format, so you should be able to just open the files in Inkscape and make any changes you want. If that doesn't work for some reason, post one of the files here so that we can confirm it is definitely an SVG file and hasn't become corrupted in some way.

Open Inkscape, then File menu > Open. Or File menu > Open Recent

It's also possible to associate the SVG format to Inkscape, so that when you double-click SVG files in a file manager, it opens in Inkscape.
