I created a website mockup in Inkscape. I am wondering if there is an easy way to create a small bitmap tile for my patterned background.
I tried using Object > Patterm > Pattern to Objects, but this only gives me the base objects for the pattern.
I attached a file containing the pattern that I want to convert to a bitmap tile. Is there a way to do this for an arbitrary pattern?

Re: Tiled Pattern to Bitmap Tile

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
Hhm, without having looked at your file yet, I would say File menu > Export Bitmap is what you're looking for. It will create a PNG file. But I'll have a look at your file to make sure I understand the question. Just need a few minutes

Edit
Yes, I think that's what you want. Unless by "bitmap" you mean BMP? If that's the case, then you'll still have to export to PNG, and then use some raster graphics program to convert to BMP.
However, if you're going to use the result actually as a tile, it doesn't look like the pattern is correct. Or in other words, it won't be seamless. Is that what you're asking? There's a tutorial in the Inkscape manual about that: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... ttern.html

Re: Tiled Pattern to Bitmap Tile
Thank you for the warm welcome!
By bitmap tile, I DO mean a seamless tiling effect. I am asking what the process is to make existing pattern fills into a seamless bitmap tile. As far as I can tell, there is no way to do it other than manually.
My example svg contains a modified version of the default "Ermine" pattern (I rotated it 45 degrees and scaled it to taste). What is the easiest way to make a seamless bitmap tile out of an existing fill pattern?

Re: Tiled Pattern to Bitmap Tile
Check out the tutorial to which I posted a link above. To my knowledge, there is no other way to do it, except manually. And I'm not sure if it can be done with a pattern fill. I guess if you were very careful about the placement of the pattern in the tile unit, then you could use Export Bitmap. But I think usually you would draw the pattern. You could make a small object with the fill, like your example, and trace it with the Pen or Pencil tool. Then the tutorial will explain how to make it seamless.
