Using "edit on-canvas" for Pattern Along Path

Postby margindoodle » Tue Dec 09, 2014 10:54 pm

I wanted to do ink lines that are tapered on both ends for my drawings. I read that you can use the Pattern Along Path technique. I follow the directions, and all seems to work well until I try to use the "edit on-canvas" button to edit the shape of my stroke. When I click the button, the shape for editing doesn't show up near the stroke I'm trying to edit. Instead it shows up all the way at the top left corner of my canvas, every time. So if I want to use it and I'm not immediately next to the shape, I have to zoom out so I can see my whole canvas and go to the top left. It really slows things down, and it doesn't seem to be like this for others when I watch tutorial videos.

Once you've displayed that pattern in the top left corner, you can select all the nodes and drag it close to the place where you need it on the canvas. Ctrl A selects them all quickly :D
