issues with kerning

Postby jeaupe » Sat Jun 22, 2013 6:31 pm

Hey guys,
I'm having an issue trying to manually kern some text. When all text is selected I can manipulate as per instructions. When I select an individual letter the only kerning I can do is using the control key and brackets, and the letter only moves in increments of 45 degree angles( 9 o'clock, 6, 3, 12). Using the alt key on individual letters doesn't work at all. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Hello:
Just double click in the text and use the tools that appear in the upper bar.

Maybe you find the answer yourself?
If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.
2.- Please check here:

Which version of Inkscape are you using and on which platform, please? The tool bar may or may not show some tool controls depending on these. Alt-kerning only works IF you have the text tool selected and you either put the text cursor between two glyphs or select one or more glyphs.
Your mind is what you think it is.

Hey guys,
I'm using version 48.2 on a mac book pro(10.7.5). I tried using the tools on the tool bar and that worked(thanks). Still no progress trying to select text and use the alt key, not sure why on that one.
thanks for the help though appreciate it.
