I'm working on a tutorial that states:
"manual kerning is done by putting the cursor after a letter,
holding down ALT and pressing an arrow key."
I cannot get this to work, I was wondering if it was different on Mac and maybe this tutorial was done on a PC. Can anyone help me figure this out? I am using Inkscape on MacBook Pro Snow Leopard OSX 10.8.

Re: Manual Kerning Between letters
Yeah, the Alt key doesn't work right in Mac systems. Here's all the info about using Inkscape with Macs, including how to fix the Alt key: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... fic_issues

Note also that
- Inkscape 0.48 has new GUI controls for letter spacing and kerning (in addition to the keyboard shortcuts):
Inkscape manual » Text » Formatting Text » Kerning and Shifting - Manual kerning does not work in 'Flowed Text'.
