I've been trying to create some text that use glyphs with open source and free software.
I'm trying to reproduce the results seen in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzLhG3qwZ0A
I've use a free font called Olivia, but I couldn't figure out how to add glyphs to look like those in video.
Lovely Melissa font is not Open Source, so it is out of the question.
Any help is welcome!
Thanks!

Re: Working with glyphs on Inkscape
Did you see the 'Glyphs' dialog (which will soon be renamed to 'unicode' I think) in the Text menu?
There's a table that lets you select characters that cannot be entered with a keyboard directly.
Or you use the unicode input method, or, most easy way, you just copy the characters from somewhere (this could be a web page, or the character map that is provided by your operating system, like the person does in the first video).
Note that you can only use characters that are part of the font. Many fonts do not support the whole unicode range. If a character is not supported by the selected font, a fallback font will be used.
Descriptions for the Glyphs dialog and the unicode input method are available at http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... ating.html .

Re: Working with glyphs on Inkscape
Hello Moini.
It sends me to the text dialogue box.
No special glyphs there.
Maybe I don't have a font that has those special glyphs.
This thread is more about finding alternative fonts to Samantha and Lovely Melissa fonts. Fonts that are Open Source.
I can access the the boxes that have the other glyphs in the character map.

Re: Working with glyphs on Inkscape
Ah, okay. Glyphs = normal characters, not special characters.
To find good lists of open source fonts, look at https://fonts.google.com/ and http://openfontlibrary.org/

Re: Working with glyphs on Inkscape
What´d I do to find alternative fonts is to upload an image to e.g. https://www.fontsquirrel.com/matcherator or WhatFontIs or WhatTheFont to let them find one for me.
