Hi, I'm starting with inkscape (userd too gimp) but my inkscape svg image is not displaying or displaying incorrectly in firefox, opera, xviewer..
It displays perfectly in caja preview and thumbnails (assuming the open files dialog in mate desktop belongs to caja).
I can't find any solution in web search.
Could someone tell me please what am i doing wrong, please?
I'm attaching the file...
Thank you for the help,
Emilio

AFAICT it displays well in chrome.
Try to save as simple svg instead of inkscape svg add sees if it helps

Re: inkscape svg image not displaying or displaying incorrectly in firefox, opera, xviewer
Note that different browsers or different viewers will display SVG images differently. Of course, the Inkscape community can't control how browsers or image viewers choose to support the SVG standards. So it's a bit hit and miss.
Looking at your file, I see that you have objects such as Arc and Ellipse, rather than paths. For best results (if you must use SVG images, as opposed to exporting a PNG image) convert everything to paths. Path menu > Object to Path
Inkscape reports (via status bar) that there are some filters applied to some of the objects. However, I can't actually see any filter effects. I don't actually know why Inkscape doesn't display them, but it doesn't. But the filters might be what's causing the display problem.
Oh, I see. They are all Blend filters. That probably means that you used (maybe not on purpose?) some Blend layer modes. Aah yes, the only layer in the file (for some odd reason, the only layer is called Layer 2) uses the Screen blend mode. If you did not mean to use that, then fixing that should solve your problem. Just switch it to Normal. And save the file again.
Also, note that the background color (orange/gold) might not be displayed on the internet. If you want the background of your image to be a different color, then draw a rectangle the same size as your page, and put behind the drawing. The background color option which you find in Document Properties is just for creating a drawing canvas which is comfortable for you. But that color might or might not show up on the internet.

Some web browsers do not support all the available Blend filters yet. That part of brynn's message is the one that will fix it for you.
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!

Re: [Solved] inkscape svg image not displaying or displaying incorrectly in firefox, opera, xviewer
Thanks a lot brynn and guys, that solved the problem. I didn't control every aspects of it, namely how did the filters ended up there, but with time i'll get there. I used to work with fireworks 15 years ago, shouldn't be too different but more powerfull...
