USCutter Vinyle Cutter and Inkscape. New :o

Postby nicktlo22 » Sat Apr 14, 2012 2:02 pm

Well I stumbled upon inkscape and saw that some people had been using it for Vinyl cutting for vinyl stickers. Im mostly looking for basic shapes, sentences words. NOthing crazy and no worries about colors. Is there any tutorial on this already? How do i get it to work with the cutter and how does all this start? ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Welcome to the forum!
This is the right place to post the message, but I don't know if you can use Inkscape with that brand of cutter. You'd have to look up the machine's documentation to find out. Or it probably wouldn't take long to try it. And since Inkscape's free, you really don't have much to lose, right? Just open Inkscape, and either draw a shape (rect, ellipse, star) then Path menu > Object to path, or draw some closed path with the Pen or Pencil.

Also please see my forum signature for instructional material for Inkscape :D

I guess your next step then, is to learn how to use Inkscape. Right? I recommend Help menu > Inkscape manual and Help menu > Tutorials. Once you start to learn some of the basics, if you have any specific questions, you're welcome to post a question and ask for help. But we really can't teach you how to use Inkscape. We can just offer help if you get stuck. Did you look at my forum signature, as I suggested?
