Inkscape crashes when I open file

Inkscape crashes when I open file

I have a file that I created in inkscape (attached). I haven't edited it in any other program, but when I try and open it now, I get a (rather uninformative) error "Inkscape encountered an internal error and will close now".

I've tried looking at them in a text editor, but (to my untrained eye) the xml seems to be intact
Please can anybody tell me what is going on, and if the original files are salvageable?

I don't know why this crashes Inkscape, but I deleted it and cleaned the document, so now it seems to open.

There was an odd path object under "Initialize" and some empty flow-text objects that I also deleted, since they didn't seem relevant. Some other tidying included ungrouping the flow-texts that have no rectangles behind, and deleting the big white rectangle in the background.

If you are using connectors, I'd try adding those back and see if the issue returns.

For info, I just discovered that this tool https://www.svgminify.com/ has a reasonably robust svg reader which removes a lot of cruft or nonsense. I've just tried this on a similar file and it works.

If the problem with the original file was related to using the Connector tool, I recently discovered what looks like a glaring bug (using orthogonal mode). I'm not sure if I reported it or not.... :?
