Text and Images Opacity Problem

Postby neutralica » Sat Sep 21, 2013 6:09 am

[Running Inkscape .48 on Windows 7]

This seems like it should be simple but I can't find it anywhere - sorry if I missed the thread.

I'm trying to overlay an image that is at 35% opacity with a text box in a separate layer. I can't figure out why, when I drag the text over the image, the part of the image that is within the boundaries of the text box become darker. It's like there is some interaction between the text box and the image opacity. The image is darker under the square of the text box, and normal outside of it.

I've tried different Blend Mode combinations but there is always an interaction of some kind. What am I doing wrong???

Have you tried converting the text box to normal text? Putting it on the same layer as the image? Are there any filters applied here? Groups? Layers at less than full opacity? All of these would give you more info. and us too. Or you could upload the file.
Your mind is what you think it is.
