Warping an object with a specified arc

Postby akki » Tue Jan 25, 2011 8:30 am

Hi everybody,

i'm trying to re-do a tutorial made for illustrator with inkscape and i've got a problem with one step.

First the link to the tutorial:
http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/designing/design-a-print-ready-beer-label-in-adobe-illustrator/

And here's my problem: in step 16 i'm told to warp the banner with a specified arc. How can i do that?
So far i've only seen that theres a warp tool to use with the cursor :tool_tweak: - but it doesn't effect combined objects correctly.

Could anybody show me how to get the warp-effect like in the tutorial?

Regards

Akki

You could use one of the Live path effects, Bend for example. Find the dialogue under Path menu.

I am trying this tutorial too, but I couldn't figure out how to warp two paths using inkscape, maybe it is not possible at all.

Well, I choose to try something different, I duplicated the outer glass, applied the gradient pattern (similar to the metal effect) and resized it a little bit.

Almost the same effect.
