Hello,
I've been looking around without any success to find a solution to the following problem. I have an svg file that contains possibly several bitmap images, say in png, and I want to produce an eps file that:
1. does not convert the text, since I want to insert the result in a latex document that uses psfrag to replace text into formulas
2. compresses the embedded bitmap files so that the eps is not too big.
The standard export to EPS option of Inkscape works for 1. but fails for 2. (produces big files) and I just discovered an 'export to ps using cairo' that works for 2. (reasonable file size) but fails for 1. (i.e., for some reasons it does not keep the text in the ps file.. Is this a bug or did I miss something ?).
Any suggestion would be really appreciated. Thanks,
Alex.
Another EPS export question
Re: Another EPS export question
Hi there,
I have a similar problem: I want to preserve the texts ('xlabel' and 'ylabel') in this simple 14 kb eps file:
http://www.student.tue.nl/N/s.w.h.versteeg/C_geometric_appr_.eps
Although after opening in Inkscape the text is still preserved, but saving it again gives a 684 kb file without text. I hope this can be addressed in version 0.47.
I use Inkscape 0.46+devel r21167, built Apr 17 2009.
Thanks a lot for any suggestions!
