help with dotted path???

Postby dtpeever » Sat Dec 05, 2009 12:53 pm

I am a total newbie with Inkscape and I am wondering how I might be able to turn a line into a dotted path??? To be more specific, I am drawing flourishes with the Bezier tool :tool_pen: , and I want to make a stitching template with dots. Can anyone help me with this? I have searched for answers but can't get the wording right to narrow down my search. I would majorly appreciate any help!!!

Thanks

In the Fill and stroke dialogue there is a tab where you can style the stroke, dots included :)
just hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt

a) A 'dotted path' in Inkscape can be created as a stroked path with 'dashes' (defined as stroke style attribute), in other software it could be called 'line type' or 'line style'.
See the Inkscape manual: Inkscape » Attributes » Stroke Style » Dashes

b) alternatively or depending how you much control you need to exactly place the dots, you could use (mid-)markers like DotL for the paths you create with the bézier tool. This will mark all (mid- or inner) nodes of lines with the chosen symbol.
