SVG file changes when received my email.

Postby ac427 » Mon May 06, 2019 2:31 am

Hi All,

I need help from the experts as i can not figure out what is going on. I had a logo built for me in Inkscape. I received the SVG file and it works perfectly on my PC. The issue i'm having, is that other people that i'm sending the file to are not seeing the same thing as i am sending. The jpeg & png files are fine obviously, but when i try to use the svg so that i can scale up the logo on larger items, it's a no go.

What is happening is the initials i have in the center of the logo "icon" get switched to block letters on the receiving end. The entire logo uses the same font, but only those 2 icon center initials are changing. Does anyone have any idea what is possibly causing this, and how i can stop it from happening?

I've attached images of what i'm sending, and what they actually receive. This is happening to multiple different graphics vendors. Thanks in advance for any assistance here.

They probably see different text because they don't have that font installed on their computer. Without seeing the actual SVG file, I can only guess. So I guess that the other text has been converted to paths, and that's why they see that text properly.

The solution would be to either have them install that font. Or convert all the text to paths before you send them the file.
