Distortion.

How can I distort a jpeg to fit an irregular shape? I have an outline
drawing of a flag and would like my jpeg to automatically distort
into this new shape if possible...Any ideas please? (not manually distorted,
but automatically)

Thanks.

This is one answer from a guy on the web. Trouble is I don't have AI...only Inkscape.

"In Abobe Illustrator, put your shape on top of the jpg, select both jpg and
shape, then click Object/Envelope Distort/.... and finally, 'Make with Top
Object' ..."

Many thanks,

I'd suggest using a raster editor like Gimp. It has a flag wave distortion.

It would be the ripple filter (maybe with a small bit of waves filter as well)
