cant get one font to work

Postby plasticbag » Sat Jul 23, 2011 10:54 pm

heres the case. if i type the text. open up the text and font window :tool_text: and there i can see how my typed word looks like with different fonts. all fonts displays correctly there, but theres one font http://www.dafont.com/virgo-01.font that even if it shows correct there, but if i press apply the text on inkscape page does not change to this font. I have lots of fonts and thats the only font that does that. . on text /font window its all ok, but somehow after pressing apply it choose some other font as display font.

am i only one who has that issue with that font? i think i have tried 5 different places to get that font, no change.

OP system Windows XP PRO
inkscape version: version: 0.48.1

Assuming you've successfully installed the font (not just downloaded) I'm not sure what would cause this. Anyone else have any ideas?

Full name of the font: "Virgo 01"
Issue confirmed on Mac OS X: the font is not usable in Inkscape (0.48.1, 0.48+devel) [1]
Likely related to Bug #212812 in Inkscape: “Cannot select fonts with names containing a <number><letter> substring” (or other similar reports).

[1] the font is listed, and the 'Text & Font' dialog can properly render a preview of the font, but it can't be applied to a selected text object on-canvas

Oh, interesting!
I don't suppose one could simply delete the numbers, and make it work?

I have a similar font. Let me see if I still have a link to the download (it's free). Yep, here it is. A Larabie Font called You're Gone. Not identical, but similar: http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/larabie/youre-gone/
