This is more a request for help to the programmers of Inkscape.
CraftRobo/Silhouette has an optical eye which is used to do Print and Cut designs, owners can cut from the Inkscape program but we can't use the Print and Cut option. We need to be able to choose Show Reg Marks in the software and then print them with the design, we can fudge the reg marks manually and get them to print, but that is no good if the program doesn't know it has to detect them. Sorry if this is a bit vague, but it's a start.
Is there any possibility that Inkscape could be programmed to do this?

Re: CraftRobo Print and Cut
Hi Lucille,
Once you have discussed this properly, the place to request new features is at Launchpad, Inkscape's bug tracker: https://launchpad.net/inkscape. Relatively very few developers participate here at InkscapeForum. Of if you're motivated to join the mailing list or are set up for IRC channel or Jabber chat. You can find info to access those here: http://inkscape.org/discussion.php?lang=en and here: http://inkscape.org/mailing_lists.php?lang=en But I think a developer will see your message, and hopefully reply. If you don't get any replies, try posting in Inkscape Ideas forum. Your question may attract more attention from developers there.
I'm not sure if developers are aware of the demand for Inkscape use among the cutter/plotter user community. So I think it might be good for both parties to have a friendly chat!
Also, I don't know if you've seen this: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4987 Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Windows or Mac. I also have no idea if it solves the problem you present here.
Good luck!

As it happens, I have to agree, as it further happens I stumbled upon this post by accident.
And further to that end, I'm one of the developers that are currently working on the software for one of the large cutter/plotter manufacturers. (I duly wish I could say who, but until later this year we have a non disclosure agreement.)
Anyhow, I've been asked by said company to build an extension for inkscape to allow it to communicate with our next generation of software (that will be compatible with the home-cutters Lucille mentioned.)
In short, while I can't say much. I can assure users that there is still hope.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to put my 'evil corporation' coat back on and find where the open-source developers of inkscape are.
Re: CraftRobo Print and Cut
OMG, that's awesome!
Inkscape is such an excellent tool for this purpose, and I suspect such an extension would be well used and appreciated, should it come to fruition. Someone has built a pretty good one for HPGL, but it only works on Linux operating systems.
Anyway, thanks for your efforts, and good luck with this project![Very Happy :D](images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: CraftRobo Print and Cut
Sorry to bump, but I just stumbled upon this and want to share an extension I wrote (adjusted from existing printing marks extension) awhile back which does exactly this.
to install extract into your extensions folder: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B88_ON ... mFvWjFfeFE
