Hello everyone,
The xml editor is a perfect replacement for a tree view. It will be better if we can select multiple items by holding down ctl, or use shift click to select regions. What do you think?

The next Inkscape version features an objects dialog: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=20141&p=76300#p76288 that supports selection of multiple objects, and so-called selection sets (groups of objects that are not in the same layer / group, but which should be selectable as a whole)?
Would these already do what you need?
