Inkscape does not see some fonts in 0.48.1

Inkscape does not see some fonts which are visibible in OpenOffice writer (windows 7). This problem should have been resolved as of version 0.46. I do use 0.48.1 but still have the problem. Any suggestions?

Hi Arnold,
Can you give us some examples of fonts that do show in OO Writer, that don't show in Inkscape, so that we can investigate? Including the site where you downloaded it.

I don't know why this might be happening, but it could be an unstable font. But someone who knows more about font issues should be able to help. Weekends can be kind of slow, so hang in there :D
