Hello
I'm truing to create a complex figure, often used on topographical maps, to portray cliffs. It's basically a line with "barbs".
A similar shape is the figure used to portray railway lines on maps.
This is how I would like to proceed:
1 Draw the general line, which could be straight or curved, with a 2-point thickness
2 Copy-paste this line, the thicken it to 12 points
3 Shift it a little
4 Dash this line so as to have a 0,5 point dash and a 5-point break (or "empty" dash). The effect should be a thick dashed line, but with the dashes being very, very fine
5 Move the two lines close together, so that the upper end of the dashed line covers the un-dashed line of point 1
The problem is that I can't play with the empty intervals between two dashes of the pre-installed dashed lines module in Inkscape.
Would anyone have a simple solution to this problem ?
Thanks in advance
Complex dashes
Re: Complex dashes
I can almost understand what you want to do by the steps you oulined. But if you could show an example, that might be helpful. Or maybe someone else already knows what you mean, and can answer?

Re: Complex dashes
There's a couple ways to make "Pattern along Path"... the LPE (live path effect) might be more useful.

Have a nice day.
