I'd like to use a graphics tablet to draw freehand in inkscape. It works pretty well, except that when I tap to draw a dot, it goes into line-drawing mode.
From the docs, it's possible to make taps draw dots by holding control. This is somewhat awkward, because it means I have to keep one hand on the keyboard while drawing.
Is it possible to somehow swap the bindings, such that a click draws a dot, and ctrl-click starts a line?
Swapping click and ctrl-click in the pencil tool?
Re: Swapping click and ctrl-click in the pencil tool?
The modifiers for the LMB click in the pencil (freehand) tool context are hardcoded in Inkscape and cannot be swapped via Inkscape preferences or Inkscape keymap file.
Edited to add emphasis that this comment is not referring to any input devices configuration outside of Inskcape (see druban's comment below for that).

Re: Swapping click and ctrl-click in the pencil tool?
although Inkscape's controls are written in, you can, depending on your hardware brand, use the control panel to change the pen tip to be ctrl+click instead of LMB click, and if the pencil tool is all you are usng this should be a good workaround, just remember to redefine one of the other pen buttons as LMB click.
Your mind is what you think it is.
