Selected menu item font color is always black

Postby coparu67 » Thu Feb 05, 2015 7:35 am

Hi
Running Inkscape 0.91 on Win7 64
Selected menu items font color is black (very dificult to read over blue), and it should be white.
If I change this color in windows settings the problem persists.

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

I would call that a problem with Windows, and not a problem with Inkscape ;)

But what's more interesting to me, is how you achieved that kind of display with Windows7. I tried and tried and tried to get the appearance of my old XP in Win7, and it just seems impossible. Maybe there's an option that I missed somewhere, like some "classic" setting somewhere. Even if I change those options in Win7 (which is really hard to find, and buried deep), it doesn't change my titlebars, etc. I can change the text, but not the titlebar. I would send someone a batch of homemade brownies, if they could tell my how to get an XP display in Win7!!!

Wow! Some of that is a bit drastic, but I'll give it a try. Now if I could just scan the brownies into my hard drive, I could keep my promise, lol. But thank you so much for that info :D

Interestingly, after changing my display options, I see the same problem as the op! My text is set for white, but it's clearly black.

AND, it IS an Inkscape problem, because it does not occur anywhere except Inkscape! I guess it should be reported.... What do you all think? Because using these display options are probably not common.

Oh, thank you ~suv! I just added a short comment with hopefully helpful info.

Edit
For op, the solution I used, was to change the background color for the Selected Item option to a lighter color. So now I can read the black text :D
