Welcome to InkscapeForum!

I'm not clear what you're asking. When you say "2 sets of nodes" do you mean you have 2 objects? Or are they subpaths of a compound path? Are they on top of each other (like in different layers), or somewhere beside each other?
When you say you need to "move them around n grouped", do you mean that you need to move them around and group them? Or 'move them around ungrouped'?

You might be looking for Object menu > Ungroup (or button on Selection tool control bar). Or you might need to use Path menu > Break apart. If neither of those get you where you need to be, you might consider showing us a screenshot with description. Sometimes the picture truly is worth a thousand words, lol!

Let us know how it goes :D

Sorry i am new to this program and not sure how to explain. Original format was pdf. what it is that some wording was done on top of card and some on bottom of card. They are in the same box not a layer. I need to move the words around but seperatly. I can not figure out how to seperate the words. but keep same words.

I don't know
Things I can see causing me problems,
objects can be locked and I don't see any messages to tell you they are. Objects>Unlock All
Stuff can be in a clipping frame, you have to un set the clip to get at them
objects can be sitting on a locked layer, Layers>Layers to poke around

probably more ...

No worries, we can figure it out.

Is it still PDF? I mean, did you just use Inkscape to open the PDF file?
Well, you said you see nodes, so I think we can get done what you want....I hope, lol.

Select them with the Selection tool :tool_selector:, then look at the status bar to see what it says. If it say Group of something, then go to Object menu and click Ungroup. I don't know what will result from that, so you'll have to tell us. So again, after you perform the ungrouping, and without deselecting anything, look at the status bar and tell us what it says. If it does NOT say Group of something to begin with, tell us what it does say.

If it's clear enough to you, and you can move the words as you want, then don't worry about reporting the status info. But it might be that more than just the words are grouped there. And it might depend on what is there and what might still be grouped, as to the next step.

The message is there, but it depends on which tool you are using, as to which message you will see. The Selection tool gives the most basic info. But if you have the Node tool activated, and something is locked, you are correct, you won't know it. So if things aren't going right, it's always a good idea to activate the Selection tool, to start to see what you're dealing with (if you don't already know).
