A Question About the Grid

Postby realistik » Thu Apr 08, 2010 1:08 am

So I've set up a grid and designed my floorplan/map with it. I have two questions that I think probably have fairly simple answers, I just haven't been able to find them.

1. Is there any way to have the grid scale when I scale my drawing? I kind of doubt this, since the grid is just snap guides rather than an object.

2. Is there a way to 'render' the grid when I export a bitmap of the drawing? It seems like this should be not only possible, but simple, however I haven't found a way to do it.

Essentially, if the answer to #2 is no, then any future drawings I make this way, I'll have to make my grid with the Render->Grid command and then Object->Guides it to get snapping. That would make me rather sad, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, right? :)

I'm pretty sure that the answer to both your questions are "no" sorry.

But to tease you, if you're prepared to get to know the XML, you might be able to manually manipulate the code to make the grid a part of the drawing. I believe the grid might be described using standard SVG XML, but in a way that keeps it out of view.
