Copying Linked Flowed Text to multiple layers

Postby OneSeventeen » Mon May 13, 2013 2:14 pm

I'm working on a book project and am making extensive use of linked flowed text.

When I create a layer with linked flowed text, it works great (awesome work team)!

Unfortunately, when I duplicate the layer, I get a duplicate of everything including the reference to the original shape in the original layer. If I look it up by pressing Shift+D I am able to edit the original shape in the original layer, even if that original layer is locked.

My workaround is to simply leave the text in my template layer "un-flowed" and to flow it in each layer... but I was curious if perhaps I was doing something wrong.

This link points to an old "Newsletter with text flow" tutorial I made a while back. Upon reviewing it, I seem to have included a two-page SVG version of a mock up.

Give it a test run and let me know if it's of any use.
