Background transparency but not object transparency

Postby Ratatoskr » Thu Mar 20, 2014 1:39 am

Hi there,
I have an image that in .PNG has a transparent background. I vectorised it with inkscape, but the background became white, so I didn't get the effect I wanted, that is, the figure of a man without background.
So I vectorised it again (always starting with the .PNG image) ticking on the options (path-»bitmap to vector-»set) transparent background. Now the full figure is transparent, meaning that I can see through the man. I do I simply vectorise keeping the surrounding transparent but not the figure? Or how can I simply create a white figure with the same shape and position so I can put it on a lower layer and then merge the two together?
Thank you

Hi.

Have a look at this thread; viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13141&p=49955&hilit=fish#p49955
Can we get a link to your PNG file?
