Hello,
I was looking at some of the "generate from path" extensions, but as a new user with Inkscape I got confused. I want two circles 1/16 in. across at the end points of an arbitrary line, arc, circle, curve, etc. I then want to have, say four 1/16 in. circles equally spaced along the path in between the endpoints. For example, the distance between the centers of the circles would be .4 in. if the path was a line and the total length of the line was 2 in. Could I have a procedure to accomplish this?
Thank you.

Re: Repeated points
1. Draw your two circles.
2. Path>combine or ctrl-k.
3. draw the path that you want to put them on. Copy it to the clipboard ctrl-c.
4. Select the two circle path and call the paths>path effect dialog.
5. From the dropdown menu select interpolate subpaths. Click the + button.
6. In the dialog click on the furthest icon for 'trajectory', 'link to path'.
7. Select equidistant spacing and number of copies.
That should be it.

Hi.
Druban - Genal!
I made the same thing using Scatter and some Trial & Error.
Your method was far easier! Hopefully one day we can get close to your level!!

Yeah, sometimes I wish we could make up some kind of awards or rankings or ratings for forum members. druban would certainly be way up there near the top! I was thinking Align and Distribute.
