A newbie to Inkscape, I have generated a Logo three times, each one getting better as I learn. The last one I had help from member "PhotoAdvanced2's" Youtube video. Here is what I have:
Two ungrouped circles of different diameters, one inside the other.
Text following the path on the outside of the larger circle, which I duplicated and rotated to the bottom for a mirrored pair.
4 objects which I grouped together.
I want to take the grouped objects and have them follow the outside edge of the inner circle. I will duplicate them twice to end up with three which I will rotate till they are evenly spaced.
Here is what I did:
I selected the inner circle & clicked "Object to path" from the Path menu, I then Shift/clicked the objects/group but did not see a "Put object on Path" command. I have looked thru the the Inkscape help document, this forum & also did Google searches but cannot seem to find anything. I found another video from PhotoAdvance2 , but he was using a single clock face that was duplicated to fit around the outside of a circle.
I have not posted what I have as I am in the process of Trade Marking the LOGO, certainly not the next Apple or Coca Cola , but just don't want to take any chances.
Any help would be appreciated, I apologize in advance if my responses are tardy, as I am at my computer sporadically thru out any given day/night.
Putting grouped objects on circular path.

Re: Putting grouped objects on circular path.
You could put your group on a path (1/3 circle perhaps), but you might see distortion of objects in your group.
Another option is to place the groups in by hand... there are only three.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Tks for replying, let me give you some more info: I have a Martini glass, Beer Glass, Wine glass & Whiskey glass all very detailed. I tried placing all the glasses X 3 onto the inner circle's outer edge one by one, rotating, spacing & placing by hand. As a mock-up it looks fantastic but the spacing is not exact and it's very difficult to get the glasses flat bases to perfectly teeter on the specific apex point for each one. I figured the best way was to put up a grid, space each glass evenly form one another, group all four together, then figure out out how to get the group to follow the inner circle path. I did see the "Generate from Path" & "Pattern along Path" executions in the "Extentions" menu but there is no "None" option in the "Deformation type" drop down window, only ribbon & snake. How do I manually get one of the groups of four glasses to change from a rectangle to a curve that follows along the circles path? Is that not possible in Inkscape?

Re: Putting grouped objects on circular path.
You might try moving the center of rotation for each object to maintain angular consistency.
Move an object to top-center of the circle and click again to get the rotation handles. Drag the center of rotation to the center of the circle.
Use the rotation handles to move the object.
Repeat for all:
When looking good, the objects can be grouped, cloned and rotated around the circle by moving the group's center of rotation, just like moving the individual objects.

Tks, heading to Avalon,NJ for some beach time, I'll give your suggestions a crack when I get back on Tues. Even for a newbie it seems like what I want to do would be a basic function of Inkscape, take some objescts, group them together then have them follow a path, to me, just as or more important then "Text to Path". Cheers!
