Hello! Im trying to get my CMYK colors right. When i type in the CMYK colors on my sisters computer with Adobe CS2 it shows like it should. And when i save it as a PDF file the colors change. So i open the file on my Ubuntu machine with Inkscape and typed in the right CMYK colors and it looked completely different if you compare it to the same colors in Adobe CS2. What am i doing wrong or does Inkscape have another color palette or something? I am a beginner at this so bare with me.
Thanks in advance. And sorry for my bad english.
Help with CMYK colors.
Re: Help with CMYK colors.
you'll probably want to be a bit more specific about the inkscape problem. too many separate things at the same time are described very briefly to make anything of it, e.g. different machines, different software, pdf export. a bit confusing.

Hi Swedish Berserk,
Welcome to the forum!
No worries, SB, we'll get things sorted out. Now when you say "cmyk", do you mean as in the cmyk printing model? Or do you mean the Fill and Stroke dialog > Fill or Stroke Paint tabs > cmyk tab? Iow, do you mean that you're using cmyk to color your objects? Or the printing mode? Because Inkscape doesn't support the cmyk printing model....not officially, I guess. But an industrious Brazilian user has written an extension. Please see this topic for info: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5943.
If you're talking about coloring objects, then I would ask several followup questions. But before I launch into it, let us know if you're asking about printing or coloring objects?

Re: Help with CMYK colors.
Hello and thanks for your fast replies! Yes i mean the CMYK printing model. If i open the file in Adobe CS2 i get the correct colors. But if i save it as a PDF or SVG and open it in Inkscape it changes color. So i opened the color panel in Inkscape and clicked on the third tab from left called CMYK and typed in the colors and the colors were way off unfortunaly. Probably its me messing things up. Im a beginner at this. That extension sounds interesting im gonna look it up right now.
Thanks for your help it i really appreciate it.
