I searched the forum but came up empty on my particular problem or my search terms are not very good.

I have to give particular CMYK value to an object. I enter those numbers (44, 38, 38, 2), and they stay ok. But when I deselect and select the object again, my values are different. It's the same "color", it looks the same, but the values are not. In this particular case I'm not really interested in the color it self, the values most be the ones I input, so I'm told.

Any advice?

Never mind. I found the culprit. Inkscape stores colors as RGB tuples, so when you input a CMYK combination, it will convert it to RGB and store that. Obviously the conversion uses an algorithms that produces different CMYK values, but same color overall.
