Limited length when searching

Postby ClausHansen » Tue Mar 19, 2013 10:49 pm

When copying from the shift-ctrl-x box into the find box, not all of the characters are included. It appears that the number of characters allowed in the find box is limited. Is there a way around that?

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Hhm, someone else asked that same question not too long ago. So far, I haven't seen an effective solution. I know there is a way to increase the number of decimal places in various fields. But that's not exactly the same problem as number of characters accepted.

Not that I would have any idea how to use this info, but I'm curious if you've learned what the limit is, for number of characters? I suppose the best solution I could come up with, would be just to be as clever as possible in choosing what attributes/values to search for. But of course I realize that's hardly a solution at all :|

Maybe someone else will know more about it?
