Hello!
I know you can press INSERT to insert a new node between selected segments.
Trouble is that I don't have an insert key and under keyboard preferences, this isn't an option to change.
Looking online, I found out that I may have to do some minor coding to achieve this...
Is there any easier way?
How can I change the shortcut for inserting a new node between selected segments from INSERT to something like "A"?
Thanks in advance...

Hi.
Assuming you are using windows,
Press and hold ALT, press 5 2 0 on the numpad.
If you want to change the key behavior permanently you can use a key remapper like one you will find here,
perform a Google search for "keyboard remapper" if you are using a different operating system (Mac, Unix, Linux)

According to the Key/Mouse Ref (https://inkscape.org/en/doc/keys091.html) in addition to the Insert key, Shift +i will also insert nodes.
