Help for a NewBee
Help for a NewBee
I have just started using Inkscape and I have not used any other graphics application so please excuse my complete incompetence. I needed a vector application and Inkscape looked like it would do the job. The problem is I have bought a .eps file off of shutterstock that I needed to do a little tweaking to, I was able to get it like I wanted but when I print it fills the picture in all black. I have saved the file using many different file types and when I open it back up the image is also solid black. The only way I can now see my work is if I go to View, Display Mode, and chose Outline, but even then the parts that were black are just outlined. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be appreciative. Just for information purposes what I am doing is taking this graphic and printing it on a transparency so I can transfer it to a photosensitive vinyl, ie Ikonics Ultra Vinyl. Thanks, Tim

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
Well, that's a new one, lol! You could try selecting everything (Ctrl + A, or Edit menu > Select All) remove the fill and add a stroke. Maybe that will remove all the black, so you can see what's happening.
But if that doesn't work, I think the only way we'll be able to figure out what's happening, is if you can provide the SVG file for us to look at. You can attach to a reply, or upload wherever you want, and give us the link
