Hello,
I am saving an Inkscape design as .DXF for exporting to a CNC machine. It includes about 30 different objects to be cut, I guess the CNC place can lay them out on the board themselves (leaving the right amount of space etc.)
But how do I name the objects? In Inkscape's object properties there is Id, Label, Title and Description which one or ones would be readable in the type of program CNC cutters use? They will have to be named because there might be a demand for 50 of one object 70 of another etc.
Or I could write text above each object but I don't want to end up having text CNC cut if they misunderstand that I don't want the text cut.
Does anyone have experience with this? It's the first time I'm sending something to be CNC cut.

I would communicate with the cnc shop to be certain you both have the same understanding/agreement of how designs will be delivered and processed. Any guesswork or ambiguity will likely cost time/money and frustrate the shop. Shops should be willing to help you before there is a misunderstanding.
If the shop is doing the nesting, they may want each part on a separate sheet with a unique part/version ID.

Have a nice day.

Thanks but they would be unlikely to know how to use Inkscape. I'll just write the name in all the fields and in a text object above to be certain.

They don't need to know Inkscape, you need to know how they want the drawings delivered. "I guess..." will often lead to trouble.
