I am a newbie with Inkscape and I've never used Illustrator.
I imported an istock illustration with several panels, and I want to cut out one of the panels to use in a design. How do I do that? I'm using an iMac w/Leopard.

draw a path around the part you want to use. select the illustration and the path. do object>clip>set.
