I am using Inkscape to create email campaigns for a company. I already use Inkscape for blogging to create layouts (see www.kellymarket.com) and am creating similar "layouts" for the email campaigns. The web designer that works with the company that hired me originally asked for jpegs, which I can't do in Inkscape, so he settled for png files. However, when we save them at 72 dpi, they are fuzzy. Side note: I import about 8-10 images into a layout ranging from 55 mb and up so the files are rather large. I am not getting much help from the web designer and am really at a loss at what to do. I've tried making the files larger and they are much clearer, but he says they have to be at 72 dpi. I've also tried copying the file into gimp and saving it as a jpg, but it's still not clear when I do that. Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks so much!

Using Inkscape for Web/Email Campaigns
Re: Using Inkscape for Web/Email Campaigns
Have you tried exporting at 90dpi, are they fuzzy then?
There is an issue with raster images in Inkscape, they will be fuzzy if they aren't aligned with the pixel grid. You can snap the images to the grid yourself or use the PixelSnap extension.
If pixel snapping isn't your problem I'd export the drawing with 90 dpi which is Inkscape default and then use GIMP to export it to a 72dpi jpg. There is a plugin for Web exporting in GIMP, you can use it to reduce the file size, and don't forget to remove the alpha layer in GIMP if you don't have transparency in your image, also to reduce size.

Re: Using Inkscape for Web/Email Campaigns
The web designer only wants them at 72 dpi. I tried snapping them to the grid but I got error messages. I am trying to download the save for web plugin, but when I put it in the folder for plugins and then open up Gimp it's not there. I've tried everything and have been looking on other forums for help, but can't figure anything out. Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help!

Were you able to try this? What was the result?
